Until one finds the ultimate teacher who can teach him all there is to know one is never really free, so what can be more important than teaching other about someone really important called the Holy Spirit. First know that there is a difference between the gift of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We cannot speak about power without the anointing of the Holy Spirit or rather the gift of the Holy Spirit upon you.
Suppose you have two people both named Susan, out of one a demonic spirit manifests claiming ownership of the name and on the other Susan nothing. What puts the other Susan on a different level is the presence of the spirit behind the name. The Bible says that Jesus was given a name above all other names, because of the spirit behind the name which is called the Holy Spirit. Understand that the higher level of the name was in terms of power and what can be achieved by the name. Many people when they are trying to visualize God they have a human image in mind sometimes thought to sit on a large chair with a huge frame but the human image still remains the proportions might be the ones that change, Jesus the Son,the same human image still prevails but when it comes to the Holy Spirit that’s where the confusion sets in.
The Holy Spirit has been around even from the Old Testament Gen 1:2And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.Gen 1:26And God said, Let us make man in our image–after our likeness. The us part means that this conversation was being carried out by more than one person, guess who was present at the meeting, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.US is referring to the trinity which comprises of God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit which means the same image is the one that was given to man though the Holy Spirit can assume other forms as when the Bible say that the Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove, clear enough?
So what is meant by the oneness that Jesus refers to”…father and I are one…”, does it mean that the three are the same person or they are distinct? When Jesus says I and the Father are one he is talking in terms of unity just the same as when he says about his disciples,Father I pray that you will make them one. If you believe that they are one and the same person then you confuse the whole Bible.For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, then this statement would be a lie, furthermore we would not be able to say that Jesus prayed because praying involves talking to someone ,which means where it was mentioned that he was praying he was somnambulising.After being baptized as he was walking out of the water a voice was heard speaking from heaven ,the Holy Spirit is said to have descended in the form of a dove ,there you have it, the three members of the Trinity as separate distinct beings. Lastly when Stephen was being stoned he said I can see the son to the right of the Father, you cannot know the right of the Father unless you know how the Father is sitting. You must understand that these three work in harmony. It is only in this world that coalition governments are more trouble than they are worth.
The Old Testament had God the Father who walked with its people then came Jesus the Son, who did all his miracles in the Old Testament and only lived forty days in the New Testament then he ascended to heaven. You must know that the Old Testament does not end with Malachi nor does the New Testament start with Matthew Heb 9:16For where a covenant is, a necessity is to present the death of the man who made the covenant.Heb 9:17For a covenant is effective with the dead, since it is never enforced while the man who made the covenant lives,because this is a covenant of blood.
John 14:16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter that he may abide with you for ever;Jesus says another comforter which means he himself was also a comforter. Notice that the Holy Spirit is referred to as a he, as a person. Know that each of the members of the Trinity has his own gifts, lets start with the gifts of God the Father,John 3:16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 14:16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.Jesus even though he was a gift he had his own gifts Eph 4:11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers which is sometimes referred to as the five fold ministry.
The Holy Spirit also has gifts of his own 1Cor 12:8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;1Cor 12:9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;1Cor 12:10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:, in addition there are Fruits of the Spirit Gal 5:22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance.
What are the functions of the Fruits of the Spirit? They serve to cushion the gifts of the Spirit, so when you are ministering you can choose one gift but the fruits must all be present. How do we know this is a gift of the Holy Spirit? You should know that there are demonic spirits which manifest as gifts of the Holy Spirit. Does the person show the attributes that are listed in Galatians 5v22 does he have love ,joy ,peace and so on ,if they are not present then we know that our relative has been posessed.One of the differences between a demonic spirit and the Holy Spirit is that the moment a demonic spirit possesses a person he does not realize it only when it is exorcised but the Holy Spirit on the other hand when he comes into you feel it but when he departs you don’t know it.
The Holy Spirit is no more or less than God he is God himself. Before we go any further there was a point in the Bible that Jesus gave a stern warning about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit saying such offenders will not be forgiven. What is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Prior to this statement Jesus had been healing people and the Pharisees had attributed his powers to the prince of demons. What he was simply saying was that whatever you see being done by a man of God and you don’t understand it remain quiet unless you have been given a revelation otherwise you might just anger the Holy Spirit by attributing his works to the powers of darkness.
Let’s wander of the track for a moment, do you know that there is another world of the spirit where there are inhabitants who live there? The Bible says that when the Israelites wanted to see God they neither saw his body ,shape nor form they only heard his voice in the cloud. The spiritual world is more real than this earth.1Cor 15:44It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body,there is a natural body and a spiritual body.2Cor 4:18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal,our bodies are not original. What fails us to pass the test of originality is that when the spirit leaves the body it can survive elsewhere. There are even structures in the spirit world ,Moses was given an instruction to build the tabernacle as he saw it where? In the spirit world. The Bible says Ps 78:24And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven’s 78:25Man did eat angels’ food,manna was crumbs of the food of angels even with spiritual bodies they have food. Even when we are in heaven Rev 2:17He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna,those who stand to the end will be given hidden manna toEAT.
Those in the spirit world can visit this world.They can relate more to this physical earth because they can visit but we cannot visit their world without them seeing us. I imagine that you have heard of haunted houses.Belshazar when he took vessels from the temple and used them for himself a spiritual hand from another world came and wrote a warning on a concrete wall.
There has been a misconception that has been around for a long time that the Holy Spirit is tongues ,it is simply one of his gifts. Some people think they do not have the Holy Spirit because they don’t speak in tongues .When one wants the Holy Spirit you ask him to enter you and when he comes to show you he has arrived he picks one of the gifts. The danger comes when he chooses another gift besides tongues. You might ask why he usually picks tongues as a manifestation , simply because he usually wants to strengthen the individual on whom it is residing 1Cor 14:4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.The Holy Spirit has been given another name the comforter, Jesus on his departure knew that there would be situations that will grieve you, so why leave you alone and not give you another comforter .Now lets enlighten each other on one of the most common yet harmful mistake we make as Christians ,he only hears your problems when you tell your friend or the marriage counselor yet he was given a task to be your comforter, he begins to question his role as the comforter since you are seeking help elsewhere.
His other job John 14:26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,he shall teach you ALL THINGS I don’t expect a Christian to be a bad cook, even how to love your partner as there are two different kinds of love ,the heathen love is sorely because you have accepted their proposal in other words it is conditional but Christian love 1Cor 13:4Love is patient and is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not brag, and is not puffed up.Have you ever thought what gave the Adam the ability to name all the creatures, or that he was asleep when Eve was formed yet when he woke up Gen 2:23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man
It would not seem right for a teacher not to have a text book 2Tim 3:16All scripture is given by inspiration of God,lets have an illustration when you visit someone’s house and the owner shows you the plan of the structure you get the correct information. If you decide to conduct the tour on your own you will leave with the wrong information, what you thought was the storeroom was actually the master bedroom. Be careful that before you read the Bible you ask for permission from the owner of the textbook otherwise you will not be able to understand it. Some people have a well organized plan for Bible study but only a few hours after studying the scriptures they cannot remember what they read. The Holy Spirit confuses you so that you make a habit not to survey someone’s field without their permission.HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, were any earthly teacher leaves you he moves an extra mile in that particular subject.

Let’s have an illustration, I assume you have seen a hen brooding. While others are busy wandering around the farmyard she sits patiently ,why ?because for the chicks to develop well they need optimal temperatures and conditions, but also know that there is food inside the egg, the moment it runs out the chick starts pecking around ultimately breaking out. The church service is supposed to warm you, create an atmosphere so that in time you mature and you remove the shell and break out. The church does not give it all to you. The problem we have is that there are people who after they have gone home they have no teacher yet they have the greatest teacher of all time who goes everywhere with them.
Let’s get back to the matter at hand the Holy Spirit was not just wandering aimlessly, it was an incubation act, the earth was an egg and the Holy Spirit was preparing for the right time, when it did come God had only to speak and streams gushed out of the earth and hills came into existence and everything else was created. Luke 1:34Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?Gabriel in reply says Luke 1:35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.Know that the Holy Spirit is not going to start learning with you, look at the earth that you are living in, it is a testimony of his powers, the same earth Gen 1:2And the earth was without form, and void.When he covers you even a seemingly unworthy individual can be converted to a worthy somebody. His presence causes that which was not there to be there.
Num 17:8And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.For a moment let me walk you through the process that the rods had to undergo when they were being made. They were cut from the tree, shaped by a knife ,smoothened by sandpaper and dried by charcoal but when these same rods were put in the presence of God they brought forth almonds which were even ripe. There are levels of anointing of the Holy Spirit such that when he comes into your life and he overshadows you there becomes an overflow ,how do you know? There exists no distinction between your body and your clothes that is why when the woman with the flow of Jesus touched the hem of Jesus’ garment Jesus says Luke 8:46And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me, power could not have moved unless there was a connection between his body and his clothing ,it was one entity. There can come a point that demonic spirits flee not because you have seen them but because they have seen you.
Lastly how can I receive him into my life ,technically since he is a gift you get him for free Luke 11:13If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?You get him for free.
